Tips to make your Job more enjoyable

Tips to make your job more enjoyable!

Yeah, so it's Friday and you can't help but wonder where in the heck your week went. Oh, that's right, you spent it droning the hours away at work. Whether its the typical 9 to 5 or an overnighter, about 65% of the working society is not happy with thier jobs. That's alot of unhappy people! Though work is necessarry, being totally bored, frustrated, underpaid, etc. is not. Here are some tips to make your work life more enjoyable.

1. HAVE A SEPARATION BETWEEN WORK AND HOME
Life can be tough. Bringing home life into work life makes for an unhappy life. So you and the wifey had a little spat last night, leave it at home! Dwelling on problems unrelated to work makes it way more stressful than it should be. Try to get a separation between issues at home and issues at work. If it's possible, solve your problems at home before you go to work or atleast take some time to think them out. This not only gives you a one up on your thinking skills, but it also gives you a head start on solving that problem and makes it easier for you to not dwell on it all day at work. If twinky let some loose on the carpet, there's really nothing you can do about it at work!

2. TAKE YOUR BREAKS!
Most employers are required by law to give employees a 15 minute break every four hours and a 30 minute break for every 8 hours. Use this time! Its really amazing how a 15 minute walk around the block can refresh you. Use your 30 minutes to actually grab a bite to eat because everyone knows you should not work on an empty stomach. You get breaks, take them. Its not rocket science people! Unless, of course, you are a rocket scientist.

3. BE POSITIVE
People who are always grumpy are not fun to be around. They waste space and funk up the air. Dealing with an office grump can be hard, but you don't need to give them the satisfaction of messing up your day. Find little quirks about them to entertain yourself whenever they come around. One grump in my office always misses a belt loop in the back of thier pants. I would much rather focus on them looking inept all day than thier stinky attitude. If you are the grump, lighten up... and make sure you put your belt through all the loops!

4.TAKE A VACATION
In a recent poll, only 30% of employees offered vactaion time actually took a vacation. Get away, put your feet up. You don't have to go anywhere exotic but it is nice to get some rest and relaxation, spend some time with family, or just spend the day not working.

5. GET A NEW JOB
If you really can't stand your job, get a new one. Find something that really makes you happy and go for it. You only have one life and there's no sense in spending it doing something that makes you miserable. Go to a job bank site such as www.monster.com or www.hotjobs.com, search for jpbs and post your resume.

Whatever you do, it can't possibly be that bad. Happy working!
